A long time ago, I was afraid of marketing.
You probably know the feeling. It felt immensely difficult and it drained me utterly, from the inside out. It wasn’t that it was really all that hard mentally: write a brochure here, send an email there. It wasn’t that I didn’t understand the step-by-step process of what I should do.
But every time I sat down to work on my marketing, it felt like I was cutting away a little piece of my heart.
It didn’t feel like me. It didn’t feel like anyone I knew or would ever want to work with. And I didn’t believe that anyone could really see what made me unique, beautiful, and valuable when I covered myself up with all these by-the-book marketing techniques.
