So consider this…you go to try on a new suit or dress. Everyone told you that it’s fashion forward. The color is this season’s must have color. But guess what? You try it on and it doesn’t fit you…and not only that, you hate the color even if it is the “it” color. What do you do? Buy it, wear it and hate it? Feel uncomfortable every time you put it on? Or hang it in the closet and never wear it (then beat yourself up because you spent money on something you knew didn’t fit YOU and you don’t like).
The way most of us have been taught to market is: one size fits all, do it even if you hate it, spend lots of money on the next “it” tool. You find yourself resisting, procrastinating, not doing it and not knowing why. Then you might beat yourself up and wonder why this just doesn’t feel like YOU…and think there must be something wrong with you.
Well, there’s nothing wrong with you. Marketing that you avoid & don’t feel inspired to do is no different than that suit that’s hanging in your closet you never wear. It doesn’t fit you.
